I found myself without a lampshade but didn’t want the lamp to go to waste, so I printed one.
This lampshade was 3D printed with a single layer wall thickness to maximise the light transparency. You can see it’s a slightly warped shape – this is due to rapid thermal cooling and is a common issue for 3D printing. This single layer wall thickness is especially prone to warping as the residual stresses occur within the filament.
Different colour 3D printed filament can be used if you fancy a different colour, or increasing the wall thickness will make the shade less transparent if you want to reduce the brightness!
